Summer riverside landscape

Franz Xaver von Hofstetten was a German landscape painter. He studied at the university in München. He started to exhibit his art relatively early - in 1830 his works were presented, as a serie of seven landscapes, in the framework of the exhibition organised by the Art Society in München (Kunstverein München). 

 

Von Hofstetten painted mostly mountain views. He was inspired by landscapes in south Bavaria and Austria.
