Jules Frederic BALLAVOINE [1855-1901] was born in Paris. He studied there, at the Academy of Fine Arts, in the atelier of Pils. In 1886, at the Salon he was awarded for his painting 'Interrupted session'. His works were repeatedly exhibited at the Salons. Ballavoine mostly preoccupied himself with genre scenes, historical painting, and portraits.
