Anton Ebert was born in Austria. He was studying in Prague Academy and trained his skills in Ferdinand Waldmüller atelier in Vienna. From 1862 he was a member of Viennese Kunstlerhaus. Ebert painted mostly genre scenes as well as landscapes and women portraits. The latter brought him fame and succes. His women portraits characterised an idealised figures, academical approach and detailed compositions.
