Landscape with a Shepherdess

Koekkoek was born in family of strong artistic tradition. He was the son of Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek and brother of Barend Cornelis and Hermanus.Marinus Adrainus carried on family's traditional style of romantic landscape painting, which he also passed on to his son Hendrik Pieter Koekkoek.

 

He worked mostly in Hilversum and Amsterdam. His works can be found in various collections in the Netherlands, for example in Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
