Marinus Adrianus KOEKKOEK [25.09.1807 Middelbourg – 1870 Amsterdam] came from well known Netherland artictic familiy of Koekkoeks. His father Johannes Hermanus Koekkeok (1778-1851) had his own atelier, where Marinus Adrianus took his first drawing lessons. Just like his older brother Barend Cornelis (1803-1862), Adrianus specialised in landcape painting, as well as gendre scenes. Artist visited towns like Amsterdam and Hilversum. Marinus Adrianus works are part of various collections in Amsterdam, Rijkmuseum in Rotterdam, Musee Royale in Brussels, Cincinnati Art Museum and Mappin Art Gallery in Sheffield.
