Trouville in Normandy, is one of the most popular therapeutic resort venues in France. Deauville-Trouville is also the nearest watering place to the capital city (one hour drive from Paris). During the 19th century it was a popular artistic meeting place, visited by personages such as: Monet, Whistler, Courbet, and writers: Aleksander Dumas, Gustav Flaubert, Guy Maupassante or Marguerite Duras.
Even nowadays on the beaches at Trouville you can find old wicker chairs, sunshades and lockers.
