Two - master on a stormy seas

Hendrik van der WORP [1840 Zutphen-1910 Zaandam] 

A Dutch marine painter. He grew up in an artistic environment. His father, Willem van der Worp (1803-1878) was a renowned marine painter. Initially, Hendrik lived in Zuthpen, in 1867 the artist moved to Almelo, until 1909 he lived in Purmerend, finally settling down in Zaandam. The majority of the paintings he left behind depict lone sailing ships at sea. His paintings are found in many private collections.
